Devon and Cornwall Police report two accidents today, one leading to a fatality

From Devon & Cornwall Police: Police are investigating a burglary and arson at an address in Wadebridge.

Offenders broke in and started a number of minor fires within the property in Chapel Lane behind Molesworth Street sometime between midnight and 9am on Friday 6 January.

The fire service attended shortly after 9am and identified three places within the property where fires had been started deliberately.

They were quickly extinguished although several thousands of pounds worth of damage, mostly from smoke, was caused to the property.

Three people were checked by ambulance for smoke inhalation.

Police are appealing for witnesses and urging anyone who has information to contact police on 101@dc.police.uk or by telephone on 101, quoting crime reference CR/001436/17.
